Maker Kids: Where kids mean business!
The school grounds around our beautiful fig tree were transformed into a colourful craft market on Friday November 22 when the Year 5 and 6 students presented the Maker Kids Fig Tree Market.
Crowds flocked to browse and buy the beautiful array of goodies, ranging from cupcakes, chocolates and toffee apples through to key rings, handmade soaps and dog biscuits.
The Maker Kids program required the students to become entrepreneurs for a term, learning vital skills such as money management, time management, team work, publicity and sales. The students work-shopped their ideas, came up with a product to sell, created the product and then promoted it around the school before the event.
The Maker Kids Fig Tree Market was a huge success, demonstrating how creative and capable our Year 5 and 6 students are. Look out for these entrepreneurs in the future!
